How to Eat Healthy at the Beach

What to Eat at the Beach – as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. Planning is everything, and that goes for not just the beach, but traveling. If you are at the beach and you get hungry, then you are going to go for whatever that is for sale and it’s going to be junk food. So you need to bring things. One of my favorite foods that I tell people to avoid if they are trying to lose weight is what I call liquid calories. I can just see this at the beach, you’re hot, you want something to cool off, you want a drink so you go drink some soda. If you want to lose weight you don’t want to drink those calories because it just goes down too quickly. So I would suggest bringing your own refreshments to the beach. Maybe a cooler with water is great, of course, or you can have iced tea and you can make your own and maybe even make it with green tea. You can drink it unsweetened maybe add some lemon juice to get some flavor in there, or some lime juice. Or sweeten it with an artificial sweetener, and that way you’re not drinking your calories. You could also pack really healthy snacks in little zip lock bags. Maybe nuts and some dried fruit or portable fruit like apples and bananas and things like that. Or little baggies filled with some vegetables and keep it on ice. This would be a nice healthy refreshing snack as opposed to going for the fast food which is definitely going to put weight on you.
